Main Role and Responsibilities for Director of Targeted Oncology
GPCR Therapeutics, USA is now building a foundational R&D team and is looking for a highly motivated and independent experienced Director to join our team. In this key role, you will have a significant impact on driving our portfolio by advancing cancer therapies from discovery to IND-enabling studies. Your activities would include providing strategic guidance on target selection, validation and program prioritization. In this role, you will report to the CSO and be responsible for driving the advancements of our Targeted Oncology programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the key leader within the company with expertise in GPCR signaling and function.
- Implement critical new technology for the company that will enhance our portfolio.
- Critically contribute to preclinical strategy, vision, and operation to progress pipeline.
- Review and prioritize portfolio and drive studies to enhance our patent portfolio.
- Lead, facilitate and document project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, ensuring alignment with internal functional groups and leadership.
- Establish and maintain functionally integrated project schedules to enable accurate project analyses, identification of critical path activities and areas of resource constraint.
- Oversee project management activities, scenario planning, identify and manage project objectives, work plans, timelines, budgets, providing formal and informal status updates to stakeholders as needed.
- Manage an external collaboration with established Biotechnology companies by reviewing data, prioritize workplan and drive program progression
- Assist in reviewing and prioritizing external Business Development opportunities.
- Interface with Senior Management team on project requirements, status review, and key development decisions.

Ideal Educational Requirements and Experience:
- PhD in Cell or Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related discipline with > 10 years of relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience working with GPCRs is critical
- Knowledge of Oncology and immuno-oncology is essential
- Experience in leading drug discovery teams is required.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of on vivo and in vitro assay design, validation, and application to drug discovery.
- Experience balancing CRO and internal resources to solve problems and drive progress.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work seamlessly with multiple drug discovery teams to deliver high quality research support.
- Demonstrated track record of success in drug discovery as evidenced by contribution to progression of novel development candidates into the clinic, a significant publication record in journals, patents, and presentations.
- Strong organizational skills: ability to manage priorities across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability and willingness to learn and adopt emerging technologies to drug discovery process.
- Willingness to wear multiple hats.
- Must travel to Korea periodically.
- Legally authorized to work in the US

Senior Scientist, Antibody Engineering Opportunity
GPCR Therapeutics, USA is now building our foundational R&D team, and we have an opening for a Senior Scientist, Antibody Engineering to join the team. This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on our portfolio by helping us build our Biologics group.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
The Senior Scientist, Antibody Engineering will be part of the Therapeutic Antibodies R&D division of GPCR Therapeutics, USA. This employee will be a member of a cross- cross-disciplinary team in support of new applications of GPCR’s technology to antibody characterization for discovery of novel and highly differentiated therapeutics, biomarkers and measurements of response to therapy, adverse event prediction or monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in close collaboration with other members of the team in the characterization of diagnostic and therapeutic antibodies.
- Be responsible for antibody discovery using murine immunization and/or phage display technology
- Be responsible for antibody expression and re-formatting (including humanization, affinity maturation, isotype switching, bi-specific technologies, detection tags, chemical payloads and Fc engineering)
- Support stable and transient expression of antibodies and antigens
- Run basic antibody and antigen characterization experiments such as electrophoresis (native and/or SDS-PAGE, western blots) and protein quantification (spectroscopy UV/Vis, fluorescence).
- Support analytical and biophysical characterization of antibodies using HPLC (IEX, SEC, affinity etc), antibody-antigen interactions (Biacore, Octet and other biosensor platforms), stability and aggregation (DSC, DLS, etc.), immunoassays (ELISA, Luminex and other platforms)
- Support antibody small- and medium-scale purification (AKTA, BioRad, etc equipment)
- Interface with collaborators and/or customers on assigned projects
- Participate in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and presentations
- Provide update of project status at periodic project review meetings

Ideal Educational Requirements and Experience
- At least six years of academic/industry experience in protein and antibody engineering with demonstrated hands-on expertise in the field of protein science and immunoassays is preferred
- D. degree in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Biophysics, Molecular Biology or related field
- Experience in directing research assistants
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience with antigen and antibody expression from eukaryotic systems is required, prokaryotic systems a plus
- Prior experience in antibody and protein purification and characterization using a variety of analytical and biophysical techniques
- Hands-on expertise should include molecular biology and protein biochemistry, screening antibody libraries, ELISA, biosensor, and/or other biochemical and cell-based assays
- Skilled in computer applications and proficient in using a variety of computer hardware

Scientist, Immuno-Oncology
GPCR Therapeutics, USA is now building a foundational R&D team and is looking for a highly motivated and independent Scientist to join our immuno-oncology team. In this key role, you will have a significant impact on our portfolio by advancing cancer immunotherapies from discovery to IND-enabling studies. Your activities would include development of immunological assays, screening to identify effective therapeutics, immune cell profiling from mice and human samples, and support for the preparation of patent applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments to drive target validation, target engagement and therapeutic assessment in immune cells using a variety of immune-based assays that include primary immune cells
- Lead and execute scientific research of early-stage immune oncology discovery programs and develop strategy in moving those programs through pre-clinical development
- Develop innovative in vivo/ex vivo/in vitro assays/analyses to interrogate the function of immune and tumor cell populations and their interaction
- Resolve key project hurdles with available information from literature and internal or external experts
- Write reports, submit patents, make internal presentations, and publish original discovery in peer-reviewed journals.
- Mentor/supervise junior scientists
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Ideal Educational Requirements and Experience:
- PhD in immunology, molecular biology, cancer biology or related discipline is required with a minimum of 5 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience.
- Experience with multiparameter flow cytometry, primary murine and human immune cell assays and immunological read-outs is essential.
- Proficiency with FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Strong knowledge of immune cell biology and immunology are required.
- Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement as exemplified by your publication record and/or significant contributions to a therapeutic development program.
- Possess a broad understanding of drug development especially cancer immunotherapy. The ideal candidate will have experience in drug screening and compound prioritization. Experience in assisting in portfolio prioritization is critical.
- Very strong bench skill set with experience in basic molecular and cell biology including but not limited to cytokine profiling, immune profiling, surface protein expression, complex immune assays (MLR, CD3/CD28 activation, CMV antigen recall, Treg and MDSC suppression assays, DC polarization and antigen presentation, etc.)
